Joe Theismann is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Raiders. He was born on September 9, 1949, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He attended the University of Notre Dame, where he was a two-time All-American and the winner of the 1970 Heisman Trophy. Theismann was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in 1971, but was traded to the Redskins in 1974. He was the starting quarterback for the Redskins from 1974 to 1985, leading them to two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl victory. He was named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1983 and was selected to the Pro Bowl three times. Theismann retired from football in 1985 and has since become a successful broadcaster and entrepreneur. He is currently a color commentator for the NFL Network and a co-host of the ESPN Radio show "The Herd with Colin Cowherd." As of 2021, Joe Theismann's net worth is estimated to be roughly $10 million.
